Time-in-Range and Time-in-Maintenance: Longitudinal Biomarkers in Home Vision Monitoring of Macular Disease - A Retrospective Cohort Study.
Dieu, Panjwani … Kozak
Retina·May 15, 2026
This retrospective study introduces Time-in-Range (TIR) and Time-in-Maintenance (TIM) as novel longitudinal biomarkers derived from smartphone-based home vision monitoring in macular disease patients. TIR-hyperacuity correlated with better visual and anatomical outcomes, while TIM-hyperacuity was associated with increased injection frequency.
Improving Efficiency in Geographic Atrophy Clinical Trials Using Run-In Phases or Single-Arm Designs.
Hou, von der Emde … Keenan
JAMA Ophthalmol·May 14, 2026
Incorporating run-in phases into randomized controlled trials or using single-arm designs can significantly reduce sample size requirements for geographic atrophy clinical trials by leveraging the inherent stability of GA enlargement rates over time.
Concurrent cytomegalovirus iridocyclitis and vitreoretinal lymphoma in the same eye during long-term infliximab therapy: a case report.
Goto, Kunimatsu-Sanuki … Hori
J Ophthalmic Inflamm Infect·May 14, 2026
This case report describes the rare concurrent development of CMV iridocyclitis and vitreoretinal lymphoma in the same eye of a patient on long-term infliximab therapy, highlighting the diagnostic challenges and risks associated with prolonged immunosuppression.
PERIVASCULAR MULTIFOCAL CHOROIDITIS WITH PANUVEITIS: Clinical and Multimodal Imaging Features.
Feo, Quarta … Tsui
Retina·May 13, 2026
This study describes a distinct perivascular phenotype of multifocal choroiditis with panuveitis (PV-MFCPU) characterized by reproducible perivascular distribution of lesions along retinal vessels, with good visual outcomes and potential for choroidal neovascularization development.
Evidence and Consensus Based Imaging Guidelines in Cytomegalovirus retinitis. Multimodal imaging in Uveitis (MUV) Taskforce Report 15.
Leal, Agarwal …
Ophthalmol Retina·May 11, 2026
International expert consensus establishes evidence-based multimodal imaging guidelines for cytomegalovirus retinitis (CMVR), confirming color fundus photography as the primary imaging modality with OCT and fundus autofluorescence serving important complementary roles.
One-Year Tumor Volume Regression Predicts Survival After I-125 Plaque Brachytherapy for Posterior Uveal Melanoma.
Dave, Taylor Gonzalez … Wilson
Am J Ophthalmol·May 12, 2026
One-year tumor volume regression following I-125 plaque brachytherapy for uveal melanoma predicts overall survival, with intermediate regression (33.3-75%) conferring the greatest survival benefit compared to delayed or accelerated regression patterns.
Comparing Refractive Outcomes of Secondary Lens Surgery between Ophthalmology Subspecialties in Patients with Good Final Vision.
Sharma, Israilevich … Starr
Retina·May 13, 2026
This retrospective study of 278 eyes found that vitreoretinal and anterior segment surgeons achieved equivalent refractive outcomes after secondary intraocular lens surgery in patients with good final vision (20/50 or better).
